On the first Sunday of 2025, Dartford Valley Roses were hosts to Pulborough women.

Although wet and windy, both sides were keen to get the second half of the season underway. Pulborough started the half with some great carries, testing the roses defence from the off, however the roses stood strong forcing a handling error to enable Lucy Matthews to score the first try of the afternoon.

Both teams continued to play with heart and passion and the Valley back line were relentless with exceptional handling and dynamic running lines, resulting in a 50-0 score line at half-time.

The second half Pulborough continued to fight back with outstanding resilience and determination, but the Roses would not take their foot off the pedal enabling them to finish with 93-0 for the final score.

Try scorers included: Lucy (2), Caitlyn (2), Sophie (3), Holly, Andy, Doots, Kaylee (3), Lauren, Bex.

With many outstanding performances, forward of the match went to Lucy Matthews and back of the match to Lauren Hunt.

Roses Development team have their first fixture of the season at home this Sunday against Sheppey and would appreciate the support from the Valley faithful's.
