**Dartford Valley Rugby Club - WEEKEND ROUND-UP**
A mixed set of results from across club sections this weekend. See below for scores, photos and some coach write-ups.
Dartford Roses 31-0 Aylesford Bulls Ladies
================================
Another excellent NC1 league bonus point win for the Roses under lights for a brilliant FNL evening at the club. Fantastic sideline support as well!!
Folkestone Rugby Club 64-5 Dartford Valley 1st Xv Men
=========================================
Tough day at the coast on Saturday for Mens 1's. Back to training, fixing and preparation for another tough challenge this weekend against Westcombe Park.
Dartford Valley U16 boys 24-15 Warlingham Rugby Club U16
============================================
Coach Stix - The Dartford U16 boys continued their 14 month unbeaten run with an impressive win against Surrey County Champions Warlingham on Saturday evening under the lights at The Lodge. Fantastic home support again for the boys, much appreciated. MoM's Nathaniel & Callum.
Medway Rugby Club U18 Ladies 46-5 Beccs Valley
======================================
Coach David - A tough day at the office for the under 18s girls on a cold and wet Sunday afternoon at Priestfields. The first half was one way traffic, with the Beccs Valley girls finally springing into life at last play of the 2nd half. The 2nd half was better in spells, but much to work on for the coming games. A late try at the end of the game for the Beccs Valley girls was well deserved. Onwards and upwards.
Bromley RFC U15 Boys 24-40 Dartford Valley Boys U15
=========================================
Coach George - A cold but bright morning down at Bromley for the 15s. A strong start from a fired up Bromley team saw the lads conceed 2 tries early doors. A quick response with dartford chasing the kickoff and securing the ball allowing Reggie (4 tries - MoM) to crash over. More tackling and some unforced errors saw the lads dig deep to grind through the middle portion of the game carving out a 2 point lead with 10 minutes to go. Some slick hands and individual brilliance by jayden setting up the penultimate try with 2 minutes left to play. A final try by David diving on the ball in the in-goal area sealed the deal with the clock in the red. Great character shown and a great "friendly".
Beccs Valley U16 Girls 24-76 Horsham Rugby Club U16 Girls
=============================================
Tough day on Sunday for the U16 girls as they came up against a very good Horsham side in a friendly fixture at Beccs. The whole squad got a decent run out though (29 players!), so time to take stock and rebuild before their next league game against Tunbridge Wells.
Folkestone Rugby Club U13 Boys 0 - 50 Dartford Valley U13 Boys
================================================
The boys were met with a cold, wet and windy Folkestone pitch for their first Kent Group 7 Waterfall game back after the Christmas break. Even with a rigorous warm up there were cold hands and shivering bodies all over the pitch, however you'd have never known it. The tone was set early, right from the first kick off a Dartford player put in a crunching tackle on Folkestone's enormous captain and from there the self belief kicked in. Great tackling in defense lead to lots of turnovers and opportunities in attack, which were despatched with style. The front row dominated at scrum time, winning all of their own ball and turning over 2 of the oppositions. This lead to 5 tries in the first half and 7 in the second. There were standout performances all over the pitch with people playing aggressively like never before, but Man of the Match goes to Freddie Wenham for his hat-trick of tries, 2 assists and some excellent work in defence.
So .. as explained, a real mixed set of results and a lot of work to do for some club sections... but thats the game!!
Onwards & upwards!!
